Together, we are possibility.

Campaign Cabinet

2017 Campaign Chair - Kevin O’Connor

Kevin OConnorUnited Way is a charitable organization that unites our community, moves people from poverty to possibility and takes care of Sudbury’s youth. I am proud to be a part of our local United Way, as last year it gave a helping hand to over 26,000 people within our community.

Over many years, I have been involved with United Way, as well as their funded partners. The funded partners I have visited here in Sudbury benefit from the funds, services and advice that United Way has to offer. By raising money for these partners, we allow these passionate community members to focus their time, energy and resources directly helping the people that need them in our community.

No other charitable organization is as driven to unite individuals, social services, government, labour groups and businesses, with the sole purpose of building a better place to raise our families and to work alongside one another.

There are many new Community Impact Partnerships at United Way North East Ontario! Recently, we have partnered with the Wolves Sports and Entertainment group to create WOLVES UNITED to support youth and youth mental health initiatives. Our new partnership with Union Gas and the introduction of the Home Weatherization program will help thousands of individuals and families to lower their gas bills. Finally, we work in collaboration with 2-1-1 Ontario, an information referral line, to help individuals to navigate the social and human service sector. The line is free, confidential, 24/7 and available in 150+ languages. If it is an emergency, call 9-1-1, for non-emergency help, call 2-1-1.

United Way is ultimately about people helping people. I am proud to say that this year’s cabinet is comprised of women and men who want to make a lasting change in the lives of the people of Sudbury. We will focus this year on raising money while growing relationships and telling our story.

I thank you in advance for your generous support. It is by uniting together – through each person’s investment of dollars and time – that we are able to create a better community.

Together, we are possibility.
